35 years. 400+ companies. One gap I never stopped closing.
Why do smart companies with good data still make decisions on gut feel?
— the core problem
The data is there. The problem is the gap between data and decisions.
Most mid-sized companies sit on six- and seven-figure profit improvements hidden inside their own data, and never extract a cent.
Not because the data isn’t there. Because nobody translates it into the insights that drive decisions. And decisions are where profit lives.
I’ve spent 35 years working with mid-sized companies, watching this gap widen. Major investment in data infrastructure, and the CFO still can’t get a straight answer on a Monday morning.
The profit is in your data. You just need the right system to extract it.
Closing it is what I do.
— the story
Entrepreneur at heart.
Driven by real outcomes.
I founded MultiBase on July 1, 1991. I had spent two years at Compaq’s international headquarters in Munich, good work, fast environment, smart people. But I knew I wanted to build something of my own.
35 years later, 400+ companies and 1.500+ projects have confirmed what I suspected in 1991: the problem in every mid-sized business is not the data. It has never been the data. It is always the gap between the data and the decisions.
I grew up in Lendava, Slovenia. Studied electrical engineering in Ljubljana, then systems science and mathematics at Washington University in St. Louis. I came to Germany in 1988. I have worked in this industry longer than most of the people I work with have been in business.
What 35 years teaches you is pattern recognition. And the pattern is always the same: companies invest in infrastructure, build reports, hire analysts, and the CFO is still running the Monday meeting on gut feel.
The answer is not more data. It is not better tools. It is a system that starts with the decisions that matter and works backward to the intelligence needed to make them.
That system is DECIDE.
I have built it across manufacturing, logistics, retail, professional services, financial services, and consumer goods. The industry changes. The gap never does.
— the DECIDE book
The book I should have written ten years ago.
Ten years ago I was still building it. AI didn't exist yet. Both were necessary.
I wrote DECIDE because the framework I had been applying for 35 years needed to exist in the world. Not as theory. As a system anyone could pick up and use. Six steps. Built from 1.500+ projects across every industry I have worked in.
DECIDE: An AI-Enabled Framework for Mid-Market Leaders to Turn Data into Profit is the complete framework. Six steps, in sequence. It starts with business value, not technology. It ends with your team running on facts instead of gut feel.
The name is not an acronym. It is an instruction.
400+ companies later, I can say with certainty: the companies that close the gap between data and decisions outperform the ones that don’t. Every time. In every industry. At every size.

Your data already knows. Do You?
A Gameplan Session is 30 minutes. You tell me what your data currently shows you – and where it goes quiet. The decisions that still run on gut feel. The reports that exist but nobody acts on. The questions your team can’t get answered, even though the data should be there. I’ll tell you what I think is hiding in your situation and whether DECIDE is the right system to fix it. If it isn’t, I’ll tell you that too.
